OngoingProjects/ Feasibility of Solar Dryers to Improve Women’s Income and Diet Diversity Project
The project is focused towards the research and development in the drying technology using vegetables and fruits product from Dhankuta district through SOLVE-Nepal. The project covers 2 main focuses are firstly Research of dried vegetables and existence of their nutrient in the product and secondly SOLVE-Nepal will pack it with the proper information about the product highlighting about the benefit of using this kind of product. SOLVE Nepal will initiate work on it from October 2025 onwards in the technical collaboration of CAFODAT college, Lalitpur, University of Colorado and Stanford University USA. SOLVE-Nepal targets to use properly the vegetable and fruit production of Dhankuta to add the value of the product and proper market in Nepalese as well as international market so that the growers primarily the women group formed by the organization will economically benefited and improving their health situations keeping balance diet using the dried product.
SOLVE-Nepal since long time doing effort to produce and market the dried vegetables, which can support to the farmers to save from the post-harvest loss problems and to provide the minimum price during the high season of vegetables also.
The project is recently approved by the NHMC Nepal to implement in the Dhankuta district through SOLVE-Nepal.
